Rebecca Eivers

Ph D student
Rebecca is a Ph D student studying effective remediation measures to mitigate sediment and nutrient inputs from agricultural catchments to Waikato peat lakes. Rebecca completed an MSc in Environmental Science specialising in freshwater ecology at Canterbury University and has worked as an environmental consultant and freshwater ecologist both in NZ and abroad. Through investigating different end-of-drain treatments systems including constructed wetlands and silt traps implemented to reduce sediment and nutrient loads to lakes, Rebecca aims to develop an attenuation toolbox which will allow landowners and lake managers to more confidently design and implement appropriate treatment systems to improve water quality and enhance lake restoration.
