Research Center of Hydrobiology, Jinan University

Dr Liancong Luo obtained his PhD from Nanjing Institute of Geography & Limnology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (NIGLAS) in 2004. He is currently working at the Research Center of Hydrobiology, Jinan University as a professor. He has a background of numerical modelling in both atmospheric science and aquatic ecosystems. Liancong’s current research involves the numerical simulation of climatic impacts on water quality in reservoirs at Guangzhou and Lake Taihu based on the 3-D model ELCOM-CAEDYM. He is also working on the auto-calibration of CAEDYM and auto-visualization of ELCOM-CAEDYM outputs with GrADS software. Additionally, his research group in China are developing an early warning system of algal bloom at Lake Taihu and Xinfengjiang Reservoir with the couple of ELCOM-CAEDYM and mesoscale meteorological model and climate model.
